School visits are welcome throughout the year.

Apart from the magnificent exhibition of our history dating back to the 13th century, brought to life and made fun by the guides and various games, areas of particular interest include nature walks through some of the tallest trees in the country, the deer park and our highland ponies.

A 90 minute tractor trailer tour of the wider land around Blair Castle can be booked by prior arrangement and this will give the opportunity of finding out more about the farming, forestry and moorland work that goes on around the estate. For more information please see the Tractor tours section.

Teachers can visit free of charge to prepare for booked school visits and our ranger service can also be asked to provide a tour of the grounds with emphasis on nature and conservation as part of the day.

A travel grant scheme was made available in 2014. It was aimed at supporting schools - and voluntary and community groups - making educational visits to the Cairngorms National Park. This grant scheme is currently fully subscribed to 31st March and its continuation will be announced soon.
