Atholl Gathering and Highland Games

Traditional Scottish Highland games opened with a “March On” by the Atholl Highlanders, The Duke of Atholl's private army, accompanied by their band of pipes and drums.

The competition begins with the heavyweights competing in traditional Highland games such as tossing the caber, throwing the hammer and putting the shot. Plenty of other attractions including highland dancing, solo piping and tug o’ war. Expect a fun fair atmosphere, complete with refreshment stands, market stalls and children’s rides.

Gates from 10am. 

Local heavies competition 11am.

"March On" at 1.15pm.

Scottish Heavy events 1.30pm.

Please note: Blair Castle and gardens are open as normal, 9.30am - 5.30pm on Sunday. The Highland Games take place in a separate part of the castle grounds and a separate entry fee applies.
